I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Faith Really Is...4
By: Ron Edmondson Tuesday, July 22, 2008
By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:5-6 NIV

The life of Enoch can be found early in the book of Genesis. According to the scriptures (which makes it true), after Enoch became a father he began to walk with God. Enoch disappeared from the earth. He did not die. He did not run away. He simply disappeared. God had taken him to his Heavenly home. Enoch's faith gave him quick access to Heaven.

Enoch is an example of faith to us, because Enoch was an early "sold out" follower of God. I have often wondered if Enoch began to fully comprehend the relationship God wanted with him after he became a father.

Before I had my first child, I knew all the answers. I could watch others raising their kids and predict the mistakes they were making. I really didn't have a full grasp of parenting until I became a parent. I now know the importance of fathering, and how much I want to develop a close relationship with my boys. I also better understand that God wants that same relationship with me.

Enoch became a father and then he put his complete faith in God. Perhaps you have needed some visible example of what faith in God means. Perhaps Enoch did as well. Look at the life of Enoch. Try to identify with him. Here is a man that loved his children, saw that God loved him likewise, and decided that God was worthy of his complete faith and obedience.

Use Enoch as your model today. Enoch saw the faith and obedience his children placed in him, and knew this was exactly what God was looking for from him.

That is faith!
