I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Different Spirit
By: Ron Edmondson Friday, March 10, 2000
Because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it. Numbers 14:24 NIV

God led His people out of the slavery and bondage of Egypt. He promised them a land flowing with milk and honey. The Israelites quickly became grumblers, easily swayed by the circumstances of the day into following other gods, and to doubting the sovereignty of the great I AM. When the time came for the people to enter the land, they became afraid. They did not believe God could deliver them safely into the Promise Land.

Caleb, however, had a different spirit. He, along with Joshua, believed God. They completely put their trust in Him alone as their Provider. They had seen the great miracles of their journey, from the raining down of manna to the quail flown in each night. God had supplied them with everything they needed to survive. Caleb and Joshua had faith that this same God was able to place them firmly and securely into the land He had promised.

What about you and me today? What are we trusting God for at this point in our life? Do we believe He can do it? Do we have a "different spirit" in us? Are we among the Calebs and Joshuas of our day?

Caleb and Joshua were greatly rewarded for their faith. And, so shall we be if we will trust Him wholeheartedly; holding nothing back!

Show God your different spirit today!
