I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Cheap Talk

It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. Acts 15:19 NIV

“Excuse me, this is my regular seat. Could you move?”

“We don’t clap our hands in this church. It just isn't proper.”

“Don't get so excited. Calm down. After a while you'll be like the rest of us ‘mature’ Christians.”

“I'm not so sure about that. We've never done it that way before.”

“Can you believe what she was wearing?

You know, sometimes I wonder why they come back. I guess it must be the Holy Spirit of God, pulling them into the church. I often wonder if we were a business, would our customers keep buying?

But we are the church, and it is our God-given responsibility to win souls for Christ by telling the good news. Still, it seems that we go about it all the wrong way at times. Sometimes we can't welcome new Christians because we are too busy worrying about the break in our tradition.

The Corinthians were similar. They thought because the Gentiles weren't circumcised that they surely couldn't be Christians. How could these people even claim Christ when they hadn't fulfilled the law given to God's people?

Aren't we that way today? If people don't look, smell, sound, walk, talk, dress, laugh, cry or eat just like us “good” Christians, how can they dare say they are saved?

Don't we make it a little hard on the newcomers to our faith? Doesn't the Bible say that all who believe shall be called “children of God”? That's all it takes to be welcomed into the family. Shouldn't we welcome them fully into the will? There is plenty to share!
