I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Calling Out His Name.
By: Ron Edmondson Saturday, August 09, 1997
Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck. Psalm 69:1

The first time I really read that verse, I couldn't help but laugh. The simplicity of David's prayer struck me as funny. Don't we sometimes try to make it difficult? We want God's help. We desire His insight; His input; His mercy; His grace, but we miss it with our procedures and rituals of prayer. Or we miss it because we fail to ask.

David was in a pickle of a mess. Ever been there before? If we continue on until verse 3, David says His throat is parched from calling out for help so long. Maybe the answer was not in the method of prayer, or the proper timing, or the location, or the request itself, but, just maybe, God was waiting for that simple, child-like request. "Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck."

Are you drowning, yet God seems so far away? Cry out to Him; not with beautiful words or a majestic prayer, but with simplicity, honesty and humbleness. Once we realize it is not about us, but about Him, then He can respond, because it will give Him the glory.

Make it so simple...it will make you want to snicker a little bit.

Tell your friends about this ministry. Why not forward a copy of the email to those you think might benefit from reading a Mustard Seed? Some churches use it as a supplement to their discipleship program. Perhaps your church would be interested in doing this. All I ask is that credit be given to the ministry.
