I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Broken People, Part 1
By: Ron Edmondson Monday, January 22, 2007
Jesus said, "You're right! You don't have a husband--for you have had five husbands, and you aren't even married to the man you're living with now." John 4:17-18 NLT

This series is for all the broken people in cyberspace. As we begin our 10th year doing this Internet ministry, I am reminded of how many hurting lives I have encountered. This week, I pay tribute to you.

Today I’m reminded of all the ladies I have met, or know, who mistakenly believe the only thing of value in their life, at least to a man, is their naked body. How’s that for bluntness? On behalf of the male gender can I just say that a lot of men are real jerks! If we, as a gender, have made you feel like your only value is in your physical being, please accept my apology. If we have failed to show you the respect and dignity you deserve as a part of God’s creation, again, please forgive us.

Jesus showed great grace to the woman in today's passage of Scripture.

I was corresponding with a woman the other day that is on her third serious relationship in recent years. She has been taken advantage of, abused, neglected, and disrespected. She doesn’t even believe there is love available to her anymore. She has finally found a decent guy, but now she’s not sure she can trust him. I can see why.

I’m trying not to live my life as a traditionalist, because I think we must change our methods (not the message) in order to reach our ever-changing culture. I do believe, however, that there is some merit to some traditions of the past. Treating a woman with tenderness, respect and care should be one of them we keep!

Husbands/men, go love your wife/significant others as Christ loves the church! Women, please know that you have great value to God and to all His creation!
