I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Awkward, Part 2
By: Ron Edmondson Tuesday, January 17, 2006
Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a mighty foothold to the Devil. Ephesians 4:26 NLT

The first step towards healing an awkward relationship is to deal with the problem.

Stop procrastinating. You should not allow negative emotions to build. They won’t get better. Time doesn’t heal everything! The more you brew on the personal injury someone has caused you, the worse the emotional pain in your life will be.

Paul encourages quick resolution to relationship problems, because the truth is you are not really going to have any peace in your life until you do resolve the problem. You can pretend all you want that you are over the hurt and pain, but until you deal with it, you are probably not! Most of us probably have relationships that just the thoughts of being in the same room together with them makes our stomachs churn a little. That’s not healthy and it is not God’s design for how His children are to be living.

In Philippians 4:2 Paul wrote: “God doesn’t want his children holding grudges.”

Two verses later Paul wrote, “Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice.” It is hard to rejoice when you are in an awkward relationship.

Because we are so relational, when relationships fail, something just isn’t right about us.

If you’ve got a damaged or injured relationship in your life, don’t ignore it. Do something about it today!
