Sometimes the hardest part about waiting for God is the view of those who don’t trust God...and many times even the view of those who do. Those people closest to us are often those least supportive of our decision to “wait on the Lord”. When tragedy struck Job, it was Job’s own wife who said, “Curse God and die!”
You and I both know that this world is not supportive of a strong faith in God. Since I have surrendered to the ministry, the number one question for me is “How do you support your family?” It doesn’t matter that I am now busier than I have ever been before in my life or that I have had hundreds of confirmations that I have been “called” into vocational ministry. It just doesn’t seem practical to some people to live by faith!
I must be honest. I know I am in the center of God’s will for my life, but sometimes the voices of those who doubt resonate louder in my mind that the Truth of God’s Word upon which I am building my life. Circumstances of life also tend to dictate a spirit of fear within me.
The only solution I have is the one the Psalmist had. It’s the one we have looked at for two weeks and will look at again tomorrow. I have to look not to the world, but to the promises of God in my life! Lord keep me in a perfect way!
